About the HCA Healthcare Hope Fund

As HCA Healthcare colleagues, it is our top priority to take excellent care of our patients, but through the HCA Healthcare Hope Fund, we can also take care of each other. The Hope Fund is a 501(c)3 charity that provides emergency funds to our colleagues when significant hardships arise due to illness, injury, natural disasters or other difficult situations that impact their essential needs. All HCA Healthcare colleagues are able to contribute to the Hope Fund as well as apply for help.

Our mission

The mission of our Hope Fund is to provide compassion and assistance to our colleagues and their families in times of need.

Our history

In 2004, hundreds of HCA Healthcare colleagues were affected by the Florida hurricanes. Immediately, our colleagues throughout the United States wanted to help. Contributions came in and were disbursed to HCA Healthcare families that had been impacted.

What started as an informal way to help one another soon evolved into a nonprofit organization, and the HCA Healthcare Hope Fund was officially formalized in July 2005. In the 19 years since, colleague contributions (along with HCA Healthcare matching) have given $107 million to more than 55,000 colleagues and their families (as of July 2024). That’s 55,000 hard times made better by each other.
